When we are building a digital product, what aspects of the human experience are we trying to encourage or discourage? How do we get the right balance or mix of it?
I don’t start my product planning with ideas or roadmaps. I start with people and personas. Understanding people and their conditions are how I know what I want to encourage, reveal or augment in my product.
Product managers are not omniscient (yet), but we can strive to be omni-empathetic. Empathy is an essential ingredient in understanding people. I strive to be humble enough to know everything that happens within the context of the life-story of others. Understanding people is how I make effective product and design decisions to build wonderful digital experiences for them. Here’s a collection of my thoughts on digital products, the strategy, the creation, and the management.
